 Food

You should always feed your Chinchilla  high quality brand of pellets. Some recommended brands are:

Hay

You should also feed a high quality based Timothy Hay. Other types of hay are good for them, on occasion. Some recommened brands of hay are:

 Water

Water should bottled or thru a HIGH quality water filter. Tap water can contain dangerous bacterica and parasites  that can harm or kill your Chinchilla.

Cages

You should always have your Chinchilla in the biggest, tallest cage possible. They love to jump and hop. Alot of store bought cages contain plastic shelves and parts. It is best to take them out and replace them with Kiln Dried Pine shelves and ledges. Chinchilla's are very heavy chewers and plastic can lead to impaction. It is also a great idea to build your own cage out of Chin safe wood. Alot of people use Melamine board to build cages.  Some recommened cages are:

Treats

Treats, if any, should be in a limited amount. Most people will tell you that raisins are a safe treat for Chinchillas, they really are not. They contain too much sugar. Some good choices of treats are:
